In 1987 Dr Hilton-Jones qualified as a doctor of medicine from Cambridge University, during which time he also undertook training at King’s College Hospital in London.
Over and above his education Dr Hilton-Jones also trained for many years in neurology and neuromuscular disorders, taking up the role of Manager and Lead Clinician at the Oxford Myasthenia Centre and also working in the National Hospital for Neurology in Queen Square, London. During his time in training he developed a particular interest in the study of myasthenia gravis.
Dr Hilton-Jones also spent one year living abroad in the USA where he dedicated his time to specialist neuromuscular training in Montreal.
Today Dr Hilton-Jones works as Lead Clinician at the Muscle Clinic in Oxford Neuromuscular Centre, a role in which he heads a multidisciplinary team in the treatment of patients with various neurological disorders. He holds his private practice at the Saxon Clinic on the first Thursday of every month.
In addition he works as consultant neurologist for both Milton Keynes and Oxford University Hospitals and regularly lectures at Oxford University.
