I qualified from Cambridge in 1992 having studied in London and Cambridge. My basic surgical training took place between London and the north west and I entered the north west orthopaedic training sceme for higher surgical training in 1998. I was appointed clinical fellow in orthopaedics at the University of Toronto in 2003. I was appointed Consultant orthopaedic surgeon at University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay in 2005. I was voted "north west orthopaedic trainer of the year" in 2008.
My areas of interest are lower limb joint replacement; including reduced incision hip replacement surgery, alternative bearing hip replacement and unicompartmental knee replacement, Arthroscopic knee surgery including anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction and General Orthopaedic Surgery including forefoot surgery.
