Professor David Marshall qualified in 1984 and is a Consultant Rheumatologist with a special clinical interest in spondyloarthropathies including ankylosing spondylitis and psoriatic arthritis.

He has been a Consultant Rheumatologist at BMI Ross Hall Hospital since April 1993, Consultant Rheumatologist and General Physician at Inverclyde Royal Hospital from 1993-2016, visiting Consultant Rheumatologist at Western Isles Health Board from 2013-2016 and Consultant in Acute Medicine at Queen Elizabeth University Hospital from 2016-present.

He is currently the Head of School for Medicine and Chair of Medicine Specialty Training Board NES. Chair of Internal Medicine Curriculum Implementation Group and responsible for Shape of Training Implementation in UK.
