Mr Michael has worked in Ashford and St Peter’s Trust as a locum consultant for 18 months before taking up the substantive post. He qualified from St Bartholomew’s Hospital and after junior hospital posts, undertook his orthopaedic training in London with supra-specialist training in hip and knee surgery in Sydney, Australia.
Working both at the New South Wales Orthopaedic Research Institute and the New South Wales Institute of Sports Medicine where he treated many top athletes. Whilst in Australia, he developed his interest in minimally invasive hip replacement and computer navigated surgery of the knee.
Mr Michael’s special interests within the speciality are:
- Hip and knee primary and revision arthroplasty
- Minimally invasive hip arthroplasty
- Hip resurfacing
- Arthroscopic surgery of hip and knee including ligament reconstruction
- Foot and ankle including bunion surgery
In 2011 Mr Michael joined Surrey Orthopaedic Clinic, a specialist orthopaedic and sports surgery group providing a complete package of high quality musculoskeletal care. The Surrey Orthopaedic Clinic is a multidisciplinary collective of professionals practicing out of BMI The Runnymede Hospital and other private hospitals.
