Miss Dorin Ziyaie

Personal profile

Miss Dorin Ziyaie is a graduate from Dundee University where she completed her undergraduate studies, before entering and a 3 year rotation in basic surgical training, during which time she completed her professional FRCS examinations (1998). This was followed by a 2 year reserach in Molecular Biology of Breast Cancer, towards a higher degree in Doctor of Medicine (MD), which was granted in 2004.

Thereafter Miss Ziyaie had entered the specialist training programme in General Surgery, subspeciliasing in Colorectal Surgery. This was completed in 2006, followed by award of Certificate of Completion of Training. She was appointed as a Consultant General and Colorectal Surgeon in Tayside in 2006.

Clinical Interests

Special interest in colorectal surgery:

  • Specific diseases of colon and rectum, and anal canal, including diagnosis and management of colorectal cancer, inflammatory bowel disease (crohn’s and ulcerative colitis), and pelvic floor dysfunction (incontinence, constipation, prolpase).

  • Course of management would also include provision of upper and lower gastro-intestinal endoscopy (both diagnostic and therapeutic).
