Personal Profile
I specialise in cosmetic and reconstructive surgery of the breast and body including breast uplift surgery, breast reduction, breast augmentation, breast reconstruction surgery, correction of breast asymmetry, male breast reduction (surgery for gynaecomastia), fat transfer, liposuction procedures, abdominoplasty and body contouring procedures. I also perform ear plastic surgery including ear pinning, split ear lobe correction, as well as scar revision, as well as mole, skin lesion and cyst removal.
After graduating from the University of Patras, Greece, I undertook my general surgical and advanced Plastic Surgery training in the UK.
Prior to starting my higher training in Plastic Surgery, I completed a three year clinical research fellowship on malignant melanoma at the University of Sheffield which led to my PhD degree being awarded in 2004. I undertook a six year specialist training programme in Plastic Surgery at South Manchester University Hospital and the Christie Hospital, the largest cancer centre in Europe, acquiring skills in breast and skin cancer reconstructive surgery.
I completed a 12 month specialist breast reconstruction fellowship at City Hospital, Birmingham and subsequently spent a further six months on a prestigious fellowship on microsurgical reconstruction of the breast at the Health Sciences Centre in Winnipeg, Canada, one of the largest centres for microsurgery in North America.
In 2011 I was appointed to my first NHS Consultant post in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust. I moved to City Hospital, Birmingham in 2012 where I was appointed as a full time Consultant Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon with a specialist interest in breast reconstruction.
In July 2017, I stopped my NHS commitments and now offer plastic reconstructive and aesthetic surgery exclusively in the private sector.
It is my usual practice to offer everyone who consults with me the opportunity to book a second consultation free of charge, prior to booking a date for their procedure, so that they have enough time to consider everything that has been discussed and ask any questions they may have.
I spend my time outside work with my young family enjoying outdoors activities.
