Dr Jenkins graduated from The London Hospital, Whitechapel, London in 1980 and throughout her professional career has had extensive training in Paediatric and Adult Rheumatology. She obtained specialist accreditation in Rheumatology and Rehabilitation after posts at Southampton University Hospitals and Queen Alexandra Hospital, Portsmouth, and became a Consultant in Rheumatology and Rehabilitation Medicine at Milton Keynes Hospital in 1994 where she remained until 2017. Anne has an established private practice based at the BMI Saxon Clinic in Milton Keynes.
Dr Jenkins has expertise in all aspects of inflammatory and non-inflammatory musculoskeletal disease. Her special interests include the early diagnosis of all types of inflammatory arthritis, gout, joint disease in children and adolescents, osteoporosis and pain syndromes. She has trained in musculoskeletal ultrasound and is able to offer ultrasound at the time of consultation to aid diagnosis, disease assessment and monitor response to treatment. Dr Jenkins is also able to provide injection therapy and acupuncture therapy for a wide range of painful conditions. Her aim is to provide a holistic, patient-centred, multidisciplinary management approach.
Since 1997 Dr Jenkins has been Clinical Director of the Community Bone Density Service which is currently based at the InHealth Diagnostic Centre, Milton Keynes. Here she personally reports and provides management advice on 1000 to 1500 scans each year. Her previous research interests include the prevention and treatment of corticosteroid-induced osteoporosis, and HIV related bone and joint disease. She has numerous publications and has lectured nationally and internationally.
