Dr Eric Holroyd is a consultant cardiologist with training in centres of excellence in the UK and USA.
He studied medicine at the University of Cambridge, before training at centres including the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham, the University Hospital of the North Midlands (UHNM, Stoke) and the Mayo Clinic in Minnesota, USA.
He is an interventional cardiologist and performs over 200 Percutaneous Coronary Interventions (PCI or angioplasties) a year at the University Hospital of the North Midlands. He has a weekly general cardiology clinic at the UHNM and look after in-patients, as well as perform on-call duties delivering emergency procedures such as primary angioplasty to patients suffering acute heart attacks.
At Mid Cheshire NHS Trust, he is the Clinical Lead for Cardiology. Dr Holroyd is involved in managing and improving the service we provide to the local community. He also provides general cardiology clinics and ward rounds.
Dr Holroyd is trained in the investigation of breathlessness, chest pain and palpitations, among other cardiovascular symptoms, and in the management of angina, valvular heart disease, cardiac arrhythmia, atrial fibrillation, hypertension and coronary artery disease.
