Dr Eric Holroyd is a leading consultant cardiologist Cheshire, Stoke and Greater Manchester who specialises in the investigation of breathlessness, chest pain and palpitations among other cardiovascular symptoms. His areas of expertise include the management of angina, valvular heart disease, cardiac arrhythmia, high blood pressure and coronary artery disease. He is a high volume interventional cardiologist performing over 200 angioplasties (stenting procedures) a year in both elective and emergency situations. 

Dr Holroyd studied medicine at the University of Cambridge before training at centres which include the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham, the University Hospital of the North Midlands and the Mayo Clinic in Minnesota, USA. He performed cutting-edge research at the Mayo Clinic and presented his work in international conferences in both the USA and Europe as well as publishing it in international journals. He received a doctorate from the University of Cambridge for this work. 

Currently Dr Holroyd is the clinical lead cardiologist at Mid Cheshire Hospital NHS Trust and an interventional cardiologist at the Royal Stoke University Hospital. Dr Holroyd performs diagnostic coronary and percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI or stenting) usually via a radical approach (in the wrist) for patients with ischaemic heart disease and other indications. He is familiar with the use of intravascular imaging, pressure wire assessment and other percutaneous procedures.
