Mr G Patrick Ashcroft is a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon based in Aberdeen. In addition to General Orthopaedics, he has a specialist interest in Hip Resurfacing, Limb
Reconstruction, Hip and Knee Arthroplasty and the treatment of early osteoarthritis.
Mr Ashcroft graduated from the Universities of St. Andrews and Manchester before undertaking early surgical training in the Caribbean and Newcastle upon Tyne.
He completed his orthopaedic specialist training in Glasgow, Dublin and Aberdeen. Today, he is a member of the British Orthopaedic Association (BOA), British Orthopaedic Research Society and British Limb Reconstruction Society.
In addition to providing a comprehensive orthopaedic surgery service, he also runs an Orthopaedic research group at the University of Aberdeen where he is a Senior Orthopaedic Lecturer. This group specialises in the assessment of joint replacements and osteoarthritis.
Outside of work, Mr Ashcroft enjoys spending time with his wife and son and has a keen interest in skiing and sailing.
