Dr Ghazanfar Ali

Personal profile

Dr Ghazanfar Ali qualified in 1984 from Pakistan. He completed his training in the North West as a registrar in internal medicine. Dr Ali subsequently joined the Royal Albert Edward Infirmary in Wigan and gained further training in gastroenterology, where he has since been working as a Consultant Gastroenterologist with an interest in hepatology.

Dr Ali has extensive experience both in general medicine and gastroenterology. He is a tutor for students from the University of Manchester medical school. He is also a trained management coach.

Dr Ali is clinical governance lead for gastroenterology and believes in the provision of the best patient care possible and customer satisfaction.

Clinical Interests

Dr Ali is interested in liver disease, viral hepatitis, fatty liver disease and cirrhosis. He also manages patients with gastro-oesophageal reflux, irritable bowel syndrome, ulcerative colitis, crohn’s, upper gastrointestinal and liver cancer and pancreatic disease.

Dr Ali is experienced in performing diagnostic and therapeutic upper and lower gastrointestinal endoscopy.
