Personal profile

I qualified at St Mary’s Hospital, London in 1989 and worked in London for 3 years. I did my specialist training in Gastroenterology/Hepatology at the John Radcliffe Hospital, Oxford and the Oxford region. I carried out my research in Ulcerative Colitis in Oxford and gained a MD in 2000 from the University of London.

I have been a Consultant Gastroenterologist at Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust since 1999.

Clinical Interests

I specialise in Inflammatory Bowel Disease and Endoscopy, particularly colonoscopy and colonic Endoscopic Mucosal Resection. At Wythenshawe Hospital I am the Trust JAG (Joint Advisory Group) Endoscopy Training Lead. I am Faculty Colonoscopy Trainer at Royal Liverpool University Hospital (a National Training Centre).
