Mr Sheth is a consultant eye surgeon joining BMI in 2016. He first performed cataract surgery in the year 2000 and so has 20 years' experience.
He qualified from St Mary’s Hospital Medical School, Imperial College, London in 1997 and undertook rotations in Accident and Emergency in London and in Neurosurgery, Plastic surgery and Ophthalmology in Brisbane, Australia.
His basic surgical training in Ophthalmology was at St Thomas’ Hospital in London, followed by higher surgical training in Ophthalmology and Cataract Surgery at internationally recognised Moorfields Eye Hospital in London. He also has fellowship training in the sub-specialty of Glaucoma.
He has been active in teaching and research with 35 peer-reviewed publications and 20 posters presented nationally and internationally. He was a teaching fellow at Moorfields Eye Hospital and has led teaching for GP colleagues at the Royal Society of Medicine, London and in Buckinghamshire, and similarly been involved in teaching optometry colleagues at Moorfields, City University and in Buckinghamshire. He has contributed to various multi-disciplinary medical committees over the past decade including the Buckinghamshire Formulary Management Group and The Stoke Mandeville New Clinical Procedures Committee. Presently, Mr Sheth holds the role of Ophthalmology Governance Lead. He has also been recognised by Bucks County Council for his kindness and life-changing treatment as a finalist in the medical category of their Dignity and Respect Awards
Mr Sheth sees mainly self-pay patients and offers them as much time as they need for a detailed cataract assessment and discussion of the surgical options.
