Personal Profile

Mr Sheth graduated in the UK and is a London-trained consultant eye surgeon. He first performed cataract surgery in the year 2000 and so has two decades experience of this intricate and life-changing surgery. Cataract surgery is his passion and accounts for the majority of his private practice. He is known for his thorough clinical assessments and friendly manner and will give you as much time, and as much information, as you need.

Cataract Surgery

Mr Sheth offers patients comprehensive cataract assessments and a discussion of the surgical options which may include monofocal lens implants, toric lens implants for astigmatism or ‘premium’ EDOF lens implants. Detailed patient information booklets and aftercare leaflets are provided and Mr Sheth will answer all your questions, schedule surgery promptly and to your availability and see you through the entire patient journey personally.

He is adept at more complex cataract surgery, performing such procedures routinely and weekly in his NHS practice, so you will be in good hands.

Enjoy better vision and the positive impact on driving, hobbies and daily living that personalised cataract surgery can bring. Transform your eyesight within a matter of weeks.

Laser Eye Surgery

Mr Sheth performs several ophthalmic laser procedures including YAG laser capsulotomy to improve vision and clear the visual axis in cases of ‘capsule opacification’ and also offers Glaucoma laser procedures including iridotomy and Selective Laser Trabeculoplasty (SLT).

General Ophthalmology

Mr Sheth is able to perform a complete and thorough eye and vision ‘health check’. The comprehensive slitlamp examination includes assessment of the eyelids for blepharitis, anterior segment, corneal health and dry eye, eye pressure check by Goldmann applanation, pachymetry, optic nerve, macula and retinal review.

Mr Sheth qualified from St Mary’s Hospital Medical School, Imperial College, London in 1997 and undertook rotations in Accident and Emergency in London and in Neurosurgery, Plastic surgery and Ophthalmology in Brisbane, Australia.

His basic surgical training in Ophthalmology was at the eminent eye unit at St Thomas’ Hospital, London to be followed by higher surgical training in Ophthalmology and Cataract Surgery at the internationally renowned Moorfields Eye Hospital in London.

He successfully interviewed for and completed world-class fellowship training in the sub-specialty of Glaucoma at Moorfields Eye Hospital in London.

He has been active in teaching and research with 35 peer-reviewed publications and 20 posters presented nationally and internationally. He was a teaching fellow at Moorfields Eye Hospital and has led teaching for GP colleagues at the Royal Society of Medicine and in Buckinghamshire. Similarly, he has been involved in teaching optometry colleagues and medical students at Moorfields, at City University and in Buckinghamshire.

Mr Sheth has contributed to various multi-disciplinary medical committees over the past decade including the Buckinghamshire Formulary Management Group and The Stoke Mandeville New Clinical Procedures Committee. Presently, Mr Sheth holds the role of Ophthalmology Governance Lead. He has also been recognised by Bucks County Council for his kindness and life-changing treatment as a finalist in the medical category of their Dignity and Respect Awards

Mr Sheth is an experienced, well regarded and approachable local eye surgeon. He sees mainly self-pay patients in Buckinghamshire and London, and also patients insured with AXA PPP and some other health insurers.
