Dr Khan-Gilbert is both medically and dentally qualified. She qualified from Dentistry at King’s College Hospital in 1983 and worked in teaching hospitals in London in Oral Surgical and Maxillofacial specialities as well continuing her Dentistry in General Dental Practice. Dr Khan-Gilbert trained in Medicine at Charing Cross and Westminster Hospital (Now Imperial College) and qualified in 1994. She went on to work in General Medicine part time, retaining Private Practice as a Dentist. Dr Khan-Gilbert finished her General Practice training, mainly in Surrey in 2004.
Dr Khan-Gilbert is interested in oral manifestations of medical disease and General Medicine. She enjoys using her Practical skills in General Practice. As a female GP, she finds that female patients prefer smears taken by a female Practitioner. She is happy to take biopsies of skin lesions as she has retained her practical surgical skills. She works in a rural practice in Godstone mainly and attend Shirley Oaks Hospital once weekly.
