Mr Husam Ebied is a Consultant surgeon (locum) in the prestigious Guys & St Thomas Hospital in London which is one of the largest teaching hospitals in the country and offering world class services.
Previously Consultant upper GI & General surgery in Barking, Havering and Redbridge hospital.
Background & Training:
Graduated from Cairo ,Egypt in 1999 from one of oldest and largest medical schools in the Middle East and completing training in Cairo for 8 years in Ain Shamis University hospitals which is a major teaching hospital, I moved to the U.k in 2007 pursued more experience and training in the U.K since.
I had the chance to work and train in some of the largest units in the country including Liverpool, Stoke on Trent and the Royal London with special interest in Upper GI& laparoscopic Surgery.
During last 3 years before taking a consultant post ,I did work as senior fellow in Guy's & St Thomas Hospital in London which is the south east regional unit for upper gastro-oesophageal surgery and specialises in all aspects of upper gastrointestinal disease. I was involved in all aspects of a management of complex malignant and benign problems being a high volume tertiary centre I did gain further experience in the field of upper GI surgery as a consultant Upper GI and General surgery in Barking, Havering and Redbridge University hospitals which is one of the busiest hospital in the country before coming back as consultant in Guys & St Thomas Hospital.
I am Fellow of the Royal college of surgeons in London and holds MD and MSc degree in general surgery.
I have a strong academic background and have many peer reviewed articles and publications plus MSc & MD degree including a 2 years research project in thyroid disease.
