Mr Ian Smith offers a full range of plastic, reconstructive and aesthetic surgery for both adults and children.
He sees children from birth in his out-patient clinic, and surgery can be performed from the age of two years. He works closely with a dedicated team of specialist children’s nurses and consultant paediatric anaesthetists.
As the Lead Clinician for Sarcoma at Leeds Teaching Hospitals, and also Lead Clinician for Plastic Surgery, he has a special interest in oncological surgery and reconstruction, including complex sarcoma surgery. Here he gained advanced surgical training in Head and Neck, and complex skin cancers. He went on to complete his higher surgical training in Plastic Surgery in Leeds in 1996 and has trained throughout the Yorkshire region.
Ian Smith holds his consultant post at the Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust, working at both the Leeds General Infirmary and St James’s Hospital. He has a strong commitment to the training of future plastic surgeons and is the Training Program Director for the Yorkshire and Humber region.
