Qualified in Medicine from the Royal London Hospital 1976. Initial medical training included working in obstetrics & gynaecology and a period working as a General Practitioner in Canada.
Subsequently trained in paediatrics mainly in London teaching hospitals, but also included a period as a senior resident in Boston Childrens Hospital, USA.
Research undertaken at the Brompton Hospital, London with Professor John Warner into food and food additive intolerance and house dust mite allergy. Gained accreditation in general paediatrics.
Appointed to present position of Consultant Paediatrician in 1993 and have been Chair of department and/or Clinical Director for most of the time since appointment. I am the lead attending Paediatric Consultant at Chase Farm Hospital. I also work as a Consultant Paediatric Allergist at St Mary's Hospital Paddington and am an Honorary lecturer at University College Hospital.
I work in 1- 3 paediatric allergy clinics per week. I continue allergy research and publications into new treatments for eczema.
