Mr Ijaz Ahmad

Personal profile

I qualified in 1989, worked in various surgical specialities before pursuing a career in Ear Nose and Throat (ENT) surgery. I was trained in the West Midlands higher specialist training scheme during 2000-2006. In 2004 I passed his fellowship examination in ENT and was entered onto the Speciality Register in 2005. I was appointed Consultant at Heart of England NHS Foundation Trust in 2007.

I have skills to deal with range of general disorders in children and adults. I have specialist interest in the head and neck surgery and am lead consultant for the multidisciplinary team for management of head and neck cancer at Heart of England NHS Trust. I have a strong research and training background in the manifestation of acid in the head and neck area and have presented as well published his work at national as well as international level. I have also developed subspecialist interests in voice and swallowing disorders . Other areas of interest include surgical management of thyroid and parotid lumps.

After work I spend time with family of two young children, gardening and watching cricket.
