Personal profile

I trained in surgery and then Trauma & Orthopaedic Surgery in Bristol and the surrounding areas, and then after a National Hand Fellowship post in Manchester and an AO Hand Trauma Fellowship in Seattle, USA.

I was appointed Consultant Hand & Orthopaedic Surgeon at the RUH and the RNHRD.  My principal research interest has been in the biomechanics of Total Wrist Replacement, an option for Rheumatoid and similar types of arthritis.

Clinical Interests



  • Hand surgery, wrist surgery, elbow surgery. 

  • Dupuytren's disease, nerve compression eg. carpal tunnel syndrome, rheumatoid arthritis and other rheumatological problems, osteoarthritis of the hand and arm, tennis elbow, upper limb pain, sports injuries of the upper limb, fractures, sprains and soft tissue injuries including tendon injuries.
