Personal profile

Mr Inder Gill is a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon practicing in all aspects of Adult lower limb Orthopaedics. His particular areas of interest are Hip and Knee replacement surgery including treating complex joint arthritis and Revisions of failed joint replacements. He also specialises in Pelvic and Acetabular trauma surgery and knee arthroscopic surgery. He is the lead for Pelvic surgery at Salford Royal Hospital and Major Trauma Centre for Greater Manchester.

He has extensive experience in Hip and Knee joint replacement surgery and dealing with complex joint reconstructions.

After completing medical school in India with distinction Inder completed his surgical training in Orthopaedics. He arrived in the UK in 2000 to further consolidate his training. He completed higher specialist training in Orthopaedics from Northern Deanery (Newcastle Upon Tyne and surrounding area) in 2010.

To complete his specialist training, he was awarded an international surgical fellowship at Royal Perth Hospital, Australia in 2011. Here he received further specialist training in Joint replacement surgery including use of computer navigation.

He also completed specialist training in complex trauma during fellowship at Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh in 2012 and Visiting Pelvic Trauma Fellowship at Wrightington and Wigan NHS trust.

He joined Salford Royal NHS Foundation Trust as Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon in August 2012. This is a Major Trauma Centre for Greater Manchester and a University of Manchester teaching Hospital.

He participates in the North Western regional multi-disciplinary meetings and organizes academic research positions within his unit for medical students and junior doctors to advance the understanding of Joint replacement and complex trauma.

He has published in reputed academic journals and lectured at multiple conferences in the past and remains involved actively in Teaching, training and research.
