Mr Kasana is Breast Oncoplastic Surgeon, working from Walsall Manor Hospital where he leads the Oncoplastic surgery service. He qualified from Jammu University (1999) and completed his higher surgical training in both the West Midlands and London. He completed his Fellowship in Oncoplastic Breast Surgery from Royal Marsden Cancer Centre, London.
His specialist interests include implant based breast reconstruction and mammoplasty techniques (removal of breast cancer with better cosmesis). His expertise in mammoplasty techniques helps with removing bigger tumours (wider lumpectomy) which would otherwise need mastectomy, without compromising cosmesis.
Mr Kasana specialises in advanced Oncoplastic surgery which combines plastic and breast cancer surgery techniques for better outcome of breast cancer. His special interest in immediate breast reconstruction (at the time of cancer removal) with implants only prevents major flap surgery, which leads to earlier recovery and avoids shock of being without breast(s). He does reconstruction with autologous flap (Latissimus Dorsi myocutaneous flap) for patients not suitable for implant reconstruction.
