Mr James Colville

Personal profile

Mr Colville has been an NHS Consultant at St George’s Hospital in South London since 2005. It is Europe’s largest teaching hospital where he helped train the country’s next generation of Plastic Surgeons. He has been the lead consultant for the Plastic Surgery Department's teaching programme at St George’s Hospital and have been one of the faculty for the Royal College of Surgeons, on the surgical skills course in hand surgery. His general plastic surgery practice at St Helier Hospital includes skin cancers, breast and abdominal surgery.                     

He graduated from University College Hospital, London in 1992 and gained the FRCS (Plast) having worked in East Grinstead, the Welsh Plastic Surgery Centre and The Royal Victoria Infirmary in Newcastle.  In 2004, he spent a year in the world renowned Louisville Hand Centre in the USA, as a  Fellow. 

Mr Colville has been trained in all aspects of cosmetic surgery such as breast reshaping and tummy tuck surgery along with nose shaping, eyelid tightening and prominent ear correction.
He frequently performs skin cancer excision and reconstruction particularly on the face and other cosmetically sensitive areas and he removes of moles, cysts and other skin lumps as well.

He has published in national and international plastic surgery journals on subjects from breast augmentation, breast screening and implants, gynaecomastia and arthritis surgery.Mr Colville is an examiner for the Royal College of Surgeons for the Fellowship in Plastic Surgery.
