Mr Ramos is a Consultant Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgeon with a special interest in foot and ankle surgery.
He qualified as a doctor in 1981 and has since obtained an MD in 1983 and a PhD in Orthopaedics in 1991. He completed his orthopaedic training in the Wessex region where he obtained his registration as a specialist in Trauma and Orthopaedics. He then furthered his training in Spain, Switzerland and the USA before taking up a post as a Consultant at Birmingham Heartlands and Solihull Hospitals in 1999. Following his appointment as a consultant in the NHS, he currently leads a hugely successful foot and ankle service at the University Hospitals Birmingham.
Over the last 20 years Mr Ramos has been passionate about innovation and introducing contemporary techniques resulting in improved outcomes.
Mr Ramos regularly chairs and conducts both national and international meetings and trains fellow surgeons in the new developments of foot and ankle surgery.
Mr Ramos specialises in all aspects of foot and ankle surgery primary and reconstructive , including dance and sporting injuries. He carries out modern treatments and surgery for foot and ankle conditions including arthroscopic( keyhole ) surgery, ankle and big toe joint replacement surgery.
