Dr Foster graduated from St Bartholomew’s Hospital Medical College, University of London where he was awarded the Crawford Exhibition.
He received his post graduate training in neurosurgery, anaesthesia and pain medicine in London and completed his postgraduate training in Australia as the Kings Fund Travelling Fellow. He was appointed Consultant in Pain Medicine to St Bartholomew’s Hospital, London in 1985, Visiting Consultant to St Joseph’s Hospice, London in 1986, Honorary Senior Lecturer to St Bartholomew’s Hospital Medical College, University of London in 1994 and Consultant in Pain Medicine to Frimley Park Hospital, Surrey in 2001. He is now in full-time Independent Practice.
Dr Foster has lectured nationally and internationally and has published widely in both journals and text books. 'He has been named in The Evening Standard and The Good Doctor Guide as one of London's top specialists.
He is married with two sons.
His recreations are family, golf, photography and travel.
