Mr Kersey graduated from Cambridge University in 1994 and then the Royal London Medical School in 1997. He completed his registrar training in Cambridge and Norwich before undertaking a specialist fellowship in paediatric ophthalmology and adult strabismus in Vancouver, Canada. He was appointed to a post at the Royal Bournemouth Hospital in February 2008. He undertook a six months further training in neuro-ophthalmology at Moorfields Eye Hospital. He has in 2012 undertaken further training in advanced cataract and refractive surgery including laser eye surgery.
Mr Kersey has published peer-review papers on toric-intraocular lenses, novel techniques in squint surgery and techniques for cataract surgery training. His current areas of interest are in the use of patient related outcome measures to assess patient satisfaction following cataract surgery and techniques for reducing patient’s dependence on glasses.
