Personal Profile

Private GP Jane is a Cambridge Graduate who undertook General Practice training at the Royal Free Hospital and has spent most of her working life at the Harrow Health Care Centre Private General Practice now based at the Clementine Churchill Hospital. Jane provide all aspects of primary care family medicine, with special interests in Women’s Health and Menopause.

Jane loves the challenge of tackling acute medical issues and values the opportunity that working in a private general practice has given her to develop long term relationships with her patients and their families. 80% of her regular patients have been with her for more than 20 years. At the other end of the spectrum  there are the occasional user  patients who  consult for the first time, and require the problem solving approach which may involve investigations and imaging, and referral to specialist care. All the blood testing, ECGs, urine testing is undertaken within the practice, usually within the same visit. The GP practice is based within the hospital and Jane and her colleagues have the opportunity to foster contacts with the consultants and services within, and this often  helps her identify the specialist who will best address the needs of the patient  . Her style of medicine is one that develops mutual trust, understanding and respect.

She has also had the opportunity to develop special interests and skill. Jane was GP Adviser on Cervical screening and HPV vaccination (ACCS) to the Dept of Health for more than ten years. She was elected member of the British Menopause Society Council for the maximum six year tenure.  She provides children’s services including routine checks and immunisation, including international vaccinations schedules. She undertakes Gastric Band adjustment She is Health and Safety Executive (HSE) accredited for undertaking asbestos medicals. She provides Mantoux and BCG services both for children and for young adults for work and travel purposes. The practice offers seasonal Flu clinics and recently covid antibody testing services, including spike antibody quantification post vaccination and infection.

Jane’s main passion is for menopause care: within the NHS she works as a Specialist at the North West London Trust Menopause and Clinical Research Unit at Northwick Park Hospital which she joined in 2001. SHE is a British Menopause Society  accredited Menopause Specialist and  teaches menopause care at all levels, including medical students, junior doctors, visiting consultants and clinicians preparing for the Certificate in Menopause Accreditations. She provides lectures and seminars at local and distant menopause courses.  SHE has a dedicated private menopause service  at the Harrow Health Care Centre at the Clementine Churchill Hospital usually on a Friday morning , but can see menopause patients on other days as well.

Jane is comfortable offering the consultation mode most suitable to the patient, which may be  by telephone, video or face to face. An initial remote assessment  may be requested whilst Covid restrictions are in place.
