Mr Jason Saunders is a Consultant General Surgeon specialising in Breast and Oncoplastic Surgery. Originally from the east end, he underwent his medical education at the University of Cambridge and at St Bartholomew’s Hospital Medical College. He received his surgical training in London and the South East, including a period of research at the Royal London.
He was appointed as a Consultant General Surgeon at Newham University Hospital in 2009 and maintains close ties with Barts and the London, and works there one day a week. His main interests are in the rapid assessment and early detection and treatment of breast cancer. He is able to offer sentinel node biopsy, oncoplastic and reconstructive techniques for cancer including therapeutic mammoplasty, implant and LD flap reconstruction, symmetrisation surgery (reduction, uplift or augmentation), and finishing touches (nipple-areolar reconstruction). His general surgical practice includes hernia repair and laparoscopic cholecystectomy.
