Prof Jayantha Arnold has been a Gastroenterologist in London for more than 25 years. He trained in Gastroenterology at King’s College London and University Hospital of Wales in Cardiff.

He undertakes Gastroscopy and Colonoscopy as procedures where required as investigations for gastrointestinal complaints. He is also director of Medical education at Ealing Hospital. He was formerly Training Programme Director in Gastroenterology for North West sector of London Deanery. 
Prof Arnold is also the Director of Clinical Studies at Ealing Hospital for Imperial Medical School, London.  He is a visiting Professor of Medicine at University of Hertfordshire.

Prof Arnold is the lead clinician in Gastroenterology at Ealing Hospital. He was a member of the examination questions setting group for MRCP Gastroenterology at the Royal College of Physicians in London. He is an external reviewer for the Journal International Immunopharmacology. He is a final MMBS examiner for the Royal College of Physicians. He has vast experience in managing gastroenterological conditions including Helicobacter Gastritis, Coeliac Disease, Cirrhosis of Liver and Inflammatory Bowel disease.

He has more than 50 publications in Gastroenterology and was a national training committee member of the British Society of Gastroenterology. Prof Arnold is a Trustee of Friends of Manipay Hospital helping to build a hospital in Sri Lanka.

He was formerly a visiting Professor of Clinical Medicine at the University of Buckingham and Chairman of Specialist Training Committee in Gastroenterology for London Deanery North West sector.
Prof Arnold was a regional specialty adviser in Gastroenterology for the Royal College of physicians in London from 2003 to 2010.

He enjoys Cricket and opens batting for a cricket club in Harrow.

He received a Teaching Excellence Award from Imperial College London in 2004 and Certificate in Teaching from the University of London in 200. Prof Arnold was an invited Guest lecturer at the 1st International conference on metal chelation in biology and medicine, Bath, UK 13 December 2009.
