For over 35 years I have had wide and varied experience both in mental health and acute nursing but also in the wider regulatory and governance environment.
In 2000 I became involved in non-surgical medical aesthetics. I developed a real passion for aesthetic medicine and have become a highly skilled injector and specialise in advanced injection techniques. I carry out a wide variety of treatments including anti-wrinkle injections, dermal fillers, cosmetic and medical grade skincare, chemical peels, micro-needling, electrolysis and micro-sclerotherapy for thread veins and removal of small skin lesions.
In 2007 I became a nurse prescriber and was one of the first in aesthetic medicine in Scotland. I feel I a patients desires and deliver highly personalised care. I like to focus on enhancing a patients’ natural beauty without having that ‘done’ or ‘frozen’ look while also minimising the effects of time and the sun.
I believe it’s important that individuals are able to make an informed decision about any treatment and have a depth of knowledge honed over the years of nursing and aesthetics, which allows me to discuss, advise and support patients on a wide variety of cosmetic and non-surgical treatments.
Patient safety has always been a concern and I’m committed to providing patients with safe and reliable techniques using only quality products and materials from leading manufacturers.
I have also been involved in the regulation and provision of cosmetic surgery and non-surgical treatments since 2005. I represented the SIHA/SINA (Scottish Independent Hospitals Association and Scottish Independent Nurses Association) on the Cosmetic Surgery Working Party which the government charged with reviewing cosmetic surgery standards throughout Great Britain. I was also part of the Scottish Government Working Party on non-surgical cosmetic interventions in Scotland in 2006.
