Personal profile

Since 2000 Prof. Snowden has been a practising Specialist Haematologist with a special interest in haemato-oncology (especially myeloma/paraproteinaemia, leukaemia and the late effects of cancer treatment) and the Director of the Blood and Marrow Transplant Service for the North Trent region (population 2 Million).

From 2002-6, Prof. Snowden was the Lead Clinician for Haemato-Oncology in Sheffield Teaching Hospitals before becoming the Lead Clinician for the North Trent Cancer Network Haemato-Oncology Group until 2010.

Prof. Snowden has published over 130 academic articles on many aspects of haemato-oncology, bone marrow transplantation and haematology. He has also been an invited lecturer in Europe, North America, Asia, South Africa and Australasia.

Prof. Snowden has an honorary appointment with the University of Sheffield for research and teaching.
