Mr John Tomlinson is a Consultant in Obstetrics and Gynaecology at Royal Bolton Hospital and BMI The Beaumont Hospital (offering Gynaecology only at The Beaumont Hospital). He graduated from Medical School at Leeds University in 1986, achieved Membership of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologist’s in 1992 and had the further honour of Fellowship in 2005.
Mr Tomlinson did most of his Post Graduate training in the Yorkshire area, as well as spending 3 years at a Missionary Hospital in Benin Republic (West Africa), before being appointed to his substantive Consultant post in Bolton in 2000.
His areas of interest have always been in high risk obstetrics areas and he has been the Clinical Lead for the Labour Ward in Bolton. He is also interested in general gynaecology and introduced out-patient endometrial ablation for heavy periods to Royal Bolton Hospital as well as starting up an out-patient walk in walk out female sterilisation service.
