Mr Stuart Moir is a Consultant Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle Surgeon at BMI Ross Hall Hospital. His NHS Practice has been at the Western Infirmary and Gartnavel Hospital since 1998.
Mr Moir has been carrying out elective foot and ankle surgery almost exclusively since coming to Glasgow, although still take part in the trauma rota at the Western Infirmary.
The last decade has seen a remarkable increase in interest in foot and ankle surgery, with the development of new techniques and specialised instrumentation allowing more successful treatment of challenging conditions such as arthritis and deformity of the ankle, hindfoot and forefoot. However, the results of foot surgery are still less predictable than in other areas of Orthopaedic practice, and conservative management should always be considered. For this reason he works closely with an experienced Podiatrist to provide an integrated service.
