Dr Jonathan Harris is a Consultant Musculoskeletal Radiologist with an interest in imaging of the musculoskeletal system and sports injury.
He was awarded as a Fellow of the Royal College of Radiologists in November 2000 and following his training in Manchester, was appointed as a Fellow in Musculoskeletal Radiology by the University of Toronto, Canada in 2002. In 2003 he was appointed Musculoskeletal Radiologist at Hope Hospital in Salford.
Specialist interests include Musculoskeletal ultrasound for tendon and muscle pathology, ultrasoundguided therapeutic injections and ultrasound assessment of groin pain. He also performs MR arthrography and spinal injections.His current practice supports orthopaedic, spinal, rheumatology and emergency medicine surgeons and physicians. He also provides a service to physiotherapists, podiatrists and club doctors of rugby league and premiership football clubs.
Research interests include shoulder instability imaging and MRI of injured cartilage. He is an Honorary Senior Lecturer at the University of Salford and lectures for Manchester University and for the Manchester Radiology Training Scheme. He also lectures nationally on shoulder and musculoskeletal ultrasound and musculoskeletal MRI.
In 2009 he was appointed as Honorary Senior Lecturer at the University of Manchester and Honorary Senior Lecturer at the University of Salford in recognition for postgraduate teaching and examining.
