Mr Jonathan Lipton

Personal profile

Mr Jonathan Lipton qualified from Manchester University Medical School in 1980 and gained considerable experience in ophthalmology in the UK. During his training he spent time at St. Paul's Eye Hospital, Liverpool, Manchester Royal Eye Hospital, Birmingham Children's Hospital, Wolverhampton Eye Hospital and Moorfields Eye Hospital before joining the Royal Oldham Hospital as consultant in 1992.

Mr Lipton has been consulting and operating at The Highfield Hospital for over fifteen years in all aspects of ophthalmology. His special areas of interest include cataract surgery, macular degeneration including the IOL-VIP system, oculomotility problems and paediatric ophthalmology.

He is an examiner for the Royal College of Ophthalmology and is a member of The United Kingdom and Ireland Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons, European Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons and the American Academy of Ophthalmology.
