During the year between 2012 and 2013 Mr Gilbert was the President of the Section of Coloproctology of the Royal Society of Medicine. He has also written articles on cancer of the large intestine (colon & rectum), keyhole surgery for the removal of the gallbladder and the use of robotics in surgery. Mr Jonathan Gilbert retired from the NHS and Wexham Park and Heatherwood Hospitals in 2011. He currently sees private and NHS patients, who are referred directly by their GP's, at the Princess Margaret Hospital in Windsor.
