Mr Perez qualified from Guys Hospital Medical School in 1987. He underwent basic surgical training in Brighton and Plymouth obtaining Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh in 1993. He completed formal orthopaedic training in Bristol and the South East Thames regions being awarded the Inter-collegiate Specialist Exam in Orthopaedic and Trauma Surgery in 1999.
He undertook fellowships in Hand, Wrist, Elbow and Shoulder Surgery in 2000 and 2001 in Sydney, Australia. He returned to London to be appointed Consultant at Northwest London Hospitals Trust in 2002 where he is currently the lead clinician in the trust for Hand and Elbow Surgery. Clinical practice since that time has been exclusively as an Upper Limb Surgeon.
Over 21 years he has undertaken over 8500 operative interventions. He regularly receives referrals to assess and treat Professional and Olympic athletes. He has a particular interest in thumb osteoarthritis, wrist pain, elbow instability/fractures and degenerative conditions of the shoulder. A full range of operative interventions are available including keyhole surgery (arthroscopy), joint replacement (arthroplasty), fixation of acute fractures and reconstruction of non-unions.
