Mrs Johnson qualified as an Orthoptist at the Royal Berkshire Hospital in 1982. After working in several jobs in London she became head Orthoptist at Mayday Hospital in Croydon in 1988. Alongside Croydon she worked at Moorfields Eye Hospital and Kingston Eye Unit in 2011 and 2012, before her current employment at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital since 2013.

Her experience is in paediatric and adult orthoptics and ophthalmic technician work.
