Ms Justine Royle graduated from Manchester Medical School in 1994. She undertook a period of research in prostate cancer being awarded an MD for this in 2003, as well as a prize from the European Urology Association. She is a fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh and is on the specialist register for Urology. Justine underwent speciality training in urology on the east of Scotland rotation and has travelled to other units in the UK and Europe to gain further expertise in laparoscopic pelvic cancer (prostatectomy) surgery.
Since becoming a consultant urological surgeon in Aberdeen Ms Royle has commenced the laparoscopic prostatectomy service there. She also has an interest in bladder cancer and has initiated the blue light cystoscopy(photo dynamic diagnosis -PDD) in Aberdeen. She is the lead trainer in urology in Aberdeen, and has a strong interest in teaching, training and research.
