Miss Karen Bancroft graduated from the University of Manchester Medical School in 1983. During her initial training in Manchester she carried out research into endometriosis and sub fertility resulting in the publication of many papers and the award of a Doctorate of Medicine in 1990.
Miss Bancroft’s training continued in London, where she developed skills in minimal access surgery, and Leeds, during which time she trained to an advanced level in minimal access laparoscopic and hysteroscopic surgery and also in colposcopy.
Miss Bancroft was appointed Consultant in Obstetrics and Gynaecology at the Royal Bolton Hospital in 1999.Since then Miss Bancroft has established a very busy practice as a general Obstetrician and Gynaecologist with a special interest in minimal access surgery, sub fertility, assisted conception, gynaecological ultrasound and menstrual problems. In addition Miss Bancroft is an accredited colposcopist. Miss Bancroft is also Clinical Lead for Women’s Health at the Royal Bolton Hospital and an Honorary Consultant for CARE Fertility UK.
