Dr Keith A. Milligan MB BS, FRCA, FFPMRCA Consultant in Pain Medicine at the James Cook University Hospital, Middlesbrough , the Friarage Hospital, Northallerton and The BMI Woodlands Hospital, darlington. Trained in Anaesthesia at Nottingham, Sheffield and Newcastle with Advanced Pain Training in Sheffield and Newcastle. He was the Clinical Director of the Pain Directorate at South Tees between 1992-2009. He has a major interest in both acute and chronic Pain Management. Clinical commitments include 2 Acute Pain Ward rounds per week, 3 adult Pain Clinics per week, 2 ‘Pain Block’ Lists per week, a monthly multidisciplinary Childrens / Adolescent Pain Clinic He has published research and presented to National and International Meetings on Opioids in Pain Management.
He lectures regularly to Medical Students, Nursing Students, General Practitioners, Pharmacists and Anaesthetic Pain Fellows (Royal College of Anaesthetists 2008) He served as an elected Council Member of the British Pain Society (2004-2007). Memberships include the International Association for the Study of Pain (member since 1989), the British Pain Society (member since 1988) and the Anaesthetic Research Society (member since 1988). He was awarded a founding Fellowship of the Faculty of Pain Medicine of the Royal College of Anaesthetists in 2008.
