I am presently the Head of Clinical Health Psychology at the Queen ELizabeth Hospital Kings Lynn NHS Trust having worked in the Health Service for over 30 years. I have worked in a variety of different psychology settings including learning disability, children and paediatrics, adult psychological disorder and Health Psychology. I have also had extensive management experience as head of clinical services and departments. Over the last 10 years I have developed a successful private practice which has specialised in the assessment and treatment of psychologically traumatic conditions. These are usually as a result of road traffic and industrial accidents, life threatening situations and assaults and serial abuse or deprivation. I have produced numerous medico legal reports for solicitors and other legal agencies. I provide supervision for Trainee Clinical Psychologists on the University of East Anglia, Doctorate Clinical Psychology Course. I have been a member of the British Psychological Society for 30 years and have acted as Chair and Secretary of the Eastern Region Division of Clinical Psychology, as well as regional representative on the National Division of Clinical Psychology Committee. I am a member of the EMDR UK and Ireland Association. I have been trained in the use of EMDR and have extensive experience which is applied successfully in clinical practice. I am the current Secretary to the EMDR Association and the President - elect assuming the Presidency in 2007. I am a member of the British Association of Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapy. Behavioural and Cognitive approaches are used in therapy.
