Mr Wembridge is a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon in the NHS at Rotherham General Hospital, with a private practice at BMI Thornbury. Having graduated from the University of Sheffield in 1993, he trained on the South Yorkshire rotation and gained his Fellowship in Trauma & Orthopaedic Surgery in 2005, with entry to the Specialist Register for Orthopaedics in 2006.
He completed his training with a specialist Fellowship in hip surgery at Guy's & St Thomas's Hospital in London and was appointed Consultant in October 2006, moving to his current position in Rotherham General Hospital in March 2010.
Mr Wembridge's main areas of interest are hip and knee surgery, including complex primary and revision procedures. He also undertakes arthroscopic knee surgery. He has published research on hip and foot surgery and won prizes at National and International conferences.
He is passionate about and committed to training of all levels of junior doctors and Medical Students; having been a College Tutor he is now the Education Training Programme Director for the Southern half of the Yorkshire and Humber Deanery in Orthopaedics. He is recognised by most of the major private healthcare insurers including BUPA, AXA PPP, Aviva, Simply Health and Prudential.
Mr Wembridge aims to provide his patients with a first class outcome through a caring and personally tailored service, delivered in a timely fashion, using proven techniques and prosthesis.
