Mr Nyunt is highly experienced in cataract surgery performing high-volume lists. He also performs high-standard oculoplastic cases such as correction of eyelid disorders, lid reconstruction after removal of tumours. He regularly operates on strabismus (squint) cases and glaucoma. Mr Nyunt’s regular audits confirm that his results are consistently better than national and international standards in all his surgical fields.
He is a conscientious, motivated, accredited and highly experienced Consultant eye surgeon with a wealth of experience on modern Cataract surgery, Oculoplastics, Strabismus (Squint) and Glaucoma.
Mr Nyunt graduated in Burma (Myanmar) with distinction in surgery and achieved post-grad qualifications in UK. He has worked in West Midlands and Wales.
He attends and presents at regional, national and international conferences and won the best presentation award at the joint meeting of Asia Pacific Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery and the Oculoplastic Association of India (2007).
As a qualified Educational Supervisor of KSS Deanery, he is active in training the future ophthalmologists, optometrists, undergraduates and nurses.
He has worked tirelessly in developing ‘Centre of Excellence’ in Southlands Hospital Eye Care.
He is also extensively involved in voluntary and charity works: he was a founding member of the “Benevolent Eye Service Trust”, a charity organisation set up with colleagues from UK and Singapore in co-operation with NGOs in Myanmar.
