Mr. Kim Son Lett qualified from St.George’s Hospital Medical School, University of London and completed his higher specialist training in ophthalmology at Leicester Royal Infirmary before undertaking further sub-specialist training in vitreo-retinal surgery at Queen’s Medical Centre, Nottingham.
He has worked as a Consultant Ophthalmic Surgeon at Birmingham & Midland Eye Centre since 2011, where he is also the speciality director for vitreo-retinal and cataract services. He was previously the speciality director of the emergency eye service.
Mr. Lett trains ophthalmologists, from both the UK and overseas, in vitreo-retinal and cataract surgery up to consultant level.
He treats patients with: Cataracts, routine and complex, with a selection of lens implants. Vitreo-retinal problems, including retinal detachment, macular hole, epiretinal membrane and floaters. Macular degeneration, retinal vein occlusions and diabetic eye disease, retinal laser treatment and general ophthalmology conditions.
