I have over 30 years’ experience in Paediatrics and I feel privileged to have therefore uniquely qualified to help children with a wide range of health issues. Having worked at senior positions both in the UK and abroad, I have extended my ability to deal in a multi-lingual setting. Further to general paediatric issues, I have special expertise in the management of UTI, Bed wetting, Enuresis and bladder conditions. Over the last two decades, I have led and initiated special clinics for this in many of the local hospital Trusts.
I specialise in General Paediatric Conditions; feeding issues, gastro-oesophageal reflux, colic, cow’s milk protein Intolerance/allergy, lactose intolerance, chronic/recurrent diarrhoea, heart murmur, pain abdomen, bowel disorders, constipation, failure to thrive, concerns about weight, growth and development, asthma/hay fever/atopic conditions, fits, faints, funny turns, chest infections, wheeze and general paediatric allergy disorder.
I am part of Birmingham University, currently as an Honorary Senior Lecturer at Birmingham University Medical School. I served at St George's School of Medicine, Grenada as an Associate Professor of paediatrics until 2015. I was lead of paediatric education for Keele Medical School, and have been heavily involved in quality improvement activities with West Midlands Deanery, Royal Colleges and CQC. I am a member of the Grand Advisory council for BAPIO, and served as an ex-member of their national executive committee, and lead of West Midlands division.
I am a member of the guideline committee with RCPCH/NICE and regularly contribute to the development of new guidelines. I am also a reviewer for BMJ case reports and Journal of United Arab Emirates. I wrote an editorial in Paediatrics in a peer-reviewed journal in 2015 and have presented in international conferences such as the 'International Congress of Paediatrics, Athens in 2011.
In addition to being a clinician, I take pride and solace in serving humanity as a musician and vocalist. I have served many charities including the National Blind Children's society, Diabetes UK, and A smile a child through my shows. This plays a big part in my life, and I enrich my soul with this God gifted ability. I am also a qualified Life/relationship coach. This gives me an edge by being able to relate to parents and children at an empathic level and work in partnership with a full understanding of their physical and emotional needs.
