Personal Profile

Miss Muthusamy is a consultant in trauma and orthopaedic surgery with a dual subspecialty in adult foot and ankle and paediatric orthopaedics. She qualified from the University of Aberdeen in 2000 and completed her basic surgical training in the North East of Scotland.

She obtained a prestigious two year fellowship at one of the leading paediatric orthopaedic hospitals in the United States (Children's Hospital Denver, Colorado) studying gait analysis and its clinical correlation, and successfully published on this topic in international peer-reviewed journals. She returned to Scotland to complete her Higher Surgical Training and was appointed a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh in 2013 (FRCS Tr & Orth).

Miss Muthusamy undertook her fellowship training at The Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital Stanmore, studying adult foot and ankle surgery and paediatric orthopaedic surgery. During this period, she was awarded the British Foot and Ankle Travel Fellowship to Heidelberg, Germany and the IPOS travel fellowship to attend the International Paediatric Orthopaedic Symposium in Florida, USA. With this experience, she commenced her current post as a Consultant in Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgery at Northampton General Hospital.

She prefers a multidisciplinary approach to treating her patients which includes input from physiotherapists, specialist care practitioners, occupational therapists and podiatrists.
