Personal Profile
Mr Ravi is a Consultant General, Upper GI and Laparoscopic Surgeon at Chesterfield Royal Hospital NHS Foundation Trust.
After qualifying in India, he completed his higher surgical training in Oxford and obtained his FRCS in Upper GI and Hepatobiliary surgery in 2001, completing his surgical training in 2002. He has been working as a Consultant Surgeon since his appointment at Chesterfield in 2002.
He has published several articles in peer reviewed journals and presented at national and international meetings. He has been Royal College of Surgeons of England College Tutor for Surgical Specialties and Clinical Director for Integrated Surgery at Chesterfield Royal Hospital.
He is currently the Associate Director of Teaching for University of Sheffield Medical School and is an examiner for the FRCS examinations conducted by the Joint Committee for Intercollegiate Examinations, UK Mr Ravi represents Trent region as a Council member at the Association of Upper GI Surgeons, UK.
Apart from this he is a member of several professional societies like the ALSGBI, BHS, EAES and TUGS.
Mr Ravi also undertakes charity work and participates in missions organized by Operation Hernia.
Clinical Interests
His main interest is in Upper Gastrointestinal and Laparoscopic Surgery which he has developed in Chesterfield. He has a particular interest in hernia and pilonidal sinus surgery.
