Mr Krishna Meda is a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh, and is qualified in Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle surgery. He underwent expert specialty training in Foot & Ankle Surgery at the renowned Nuffield Orthopaedic centre as a Fellow for Mr PHC Cooke FRCS, in Oxford.
Mr Krishna Meda is appointed as Consultant Surgeon in The Royal Orthopaedic Hospital, Birmingham. This is the largest Orthopaedic Hospital in the Europe and is a centre for many Orthopaedic inventions and pioneering limb salvaging tumour surgery. Mr Meda is the lead Consultant for the Foot and Ankle unit. He works in a multidisciplinary setup involving Orthopaedic surgeons, Plastic surgeons, Radiologists, Pathologists, Orthotists, Physiotherapists to give a comprehensive management for his patients.
Mr Meda is involved in teaching and research in his hospital and University. He regularly teaches medical students, nursing staff and physiotherapists. A senior Specialist Registrar and an International Fellow trains under him throughout the year before they become fellow consultants. He is involved in various research projects. He has also presented a substantial number of papers at regional, national and International society meetings.
Mr Krishna Meda earned his undergraduate medical degree with distinction at the SV University. While in medical school, he received Gold medals for Anatomy, Pathology and Surgery. His post-graduate training included a surgical internship followed by an orthopaedic surgery residency for 5 years. He received MS(Ortho) in Trauma & Orthopaedics from the University of Health Sciences.
Mr Meda underwent further specialty training in Orthopaedics with a special interest in Foot and Ankle Surgery at the University of Liverpool Hospitals for 8 years. He received MCh(Ortho) from University of Liverpool, FRCSEd and FRCS(Tr&Ortho) from Royal Collge of Surgeons of Edinburgh. He received further specialist foot & ankle training in Chicago, Houston, Bordeaux(France) and Amsterdam.
Owing to his expertise in sports-related Foot & Ankle injuries, Mr Meda has treated numerous athletes and has performed state-of-the-art surgical techniques that have permitted many to resume their sports activities without impairment. He takes care of ballet students in Elmhurst school for dance. In addition, his clinical interests include Bunion surgery, Forefoot Reconstructions, Flat foot and High Arched foot reconstruction, Total Ankle and Big toe Replacements, Arthroscopic(Key hole) surgery involving ankle, subtalar, Big toe joints and various tendon reconstructions (Tibialis posterior, Flexor Hallucis Longus, TendoAchilles, Peroneal tendons).
