Dr Tang originally qualified at the University of Edinburgh, with subsequent broad postgraduate Gastroenterology and Hepatology Specialist training in London at Guys & St Thomas's Hospitals, University College Hospital, and completing training at the Institute of Liver Studies, King's College Hospital.
He pursued subspecialty training in advanced endoscopy/colonoscopy and ERCP as Assistant Professor at the Chinese University of Hong Kong (1998 - 1999), and now provides a comprehensive diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy/ERCP service, as well as active in Endoscopy training in his role as both Educational and Clinical Trainee Supervisor in general Gastroenterology. He is examiner for UCL/RFH Final MB, and CMT interviewer at London Deanery.
Dr Tang further spent a period of extended research at the Institute of Hepatology, University College London (2000 - 2003), completing his MD thesis in Hepatitis/Liver disease, presenting and publishing widely in this field. He is currently BCF Trust Lead in Hepatology, and runs a broad Liver and Pancreatobiliary Service with dedicated Hepatitis Treatment Clinic.
