Dr Forrester is chartered by the British Psychological Society and is registered with the Health Care Professions Council. She has a PhD in Psychology, a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology, and twenty years’ experience in the field of clinical and academic psychology. She is also a published author of books and academic journal articles and is currently undertaking a Master’s degree in Clinical Pain Management.

Dr Forrester has extensive experience with mood disorders and interpersonal problems, specifically in diagnostic work with neuro-developmental and other type disorders. She has developed particular expertise in psychological aspects of physical conditions and persistent pain, and as such understands the complex interplay between physical and emotional health. As recommended by official clinical guidelines, Dr Forrester utilises evidence-based psychological models, employing these within a multi-stranded framework as appropriate. This is based on a unique formulation of the challenges faced by the patient.

This formulation is collaboratively identified and forms the basis for mutually agreeing the therapeutic contract, aimed at best serving the patient’s needs. All models and techniques she uses are grounded within a strong and enabling therapeutic relationship. She conducts regular reviews focusing on choice, empowerment and goal attainment in order to ensure that growth is being achieved. She can provide psychological interventions in English, Norwegian, Swedish and Danish.

Medico-legal reports can also be produced.
