Personal Profile
I am a consultant in oncoplastic breast surgery at the Royal Hallamshire Hospital, and honorary senior clinical lecturer at the University of Sheffield. In addition to my regular NHS surgical duties, I lead the breast multidisciplinary team meetings and I am also governance lead to the breast services.
I have an interest in breast cancer research, with a doctoral degree (MD) in genes associated with tamoxifen resistance (University of Leeds), in addition to interests in statistics and critical appraisal. I am a peer reviewer to the British Medical Journal, British Journal of Surgery and various other medical journals.
Prizes and awards include: MD with commendation (University of Leeds), British Journal of Surgery Prize (British Association of Surgical Oncology, BASO), Scholar in Training Award (American Association for Clinical Research, AACR), letter of commendation from the Association of Breast Surgery, in addition to regional prizes.
